The Graveyard
This Graveyard project has evolved from my becoming slightly obsessed of late with photographing graveyards and churchyards. Graves and cemeteries make intriguing images to say the least. One of my favorites is St. George’s churchyard at Portland, Dorset which has beautiful stone carvings. Then, there is an old Churchyard; All Hallows in Wimborne St. Giles. It was very overgrown and yields broken gravestones in the shadows of the trees. I have also visited Tyne Cot cemetery in Passchendaele, Flanders; a very humbling experience.
